Gabriel Nijmeh is no stranger to software development, having worked in a variety of roles including testing, business analysis, system design and project management. With a management degree from the University of Toronto and diploma in IT, he has spent the past twelve years working with top-notch teams designing and developing large-scale, multi-million dollar systems for some of Canada’s largest financial services companies.

Music is foremost on his mind! Gabriel spends a lot of time thinking about music and technology, having been involved with numerous digital music startups in an advisory role. In today’s networked economy, he spends time engaging music lovers, artists and technologists from around the world to discuss and implement strategies that showcase great music, celebrate the artistic process and contribute to a new music economy that will benefit all key participants.

Gabriel was first to bring order in the chaotic world of Twitter by creating and aggregating a comprehensive Artists on Twitter List in early 2009 which has proven to be an extremely popular resource with fans and artists. In addition, he co-hosts the Toronto edition of OpenMusicMedia, which meets to debate and discuss the intersection of music, media and digital culture. He also writes a monthly music and technology recap which covers new music services, mobile music apps, investment activity and industry analysis/commentary.
